True North Eyecare is a technologically advanced eye care clinic located inside the Santee Costco. In addition to providing exams for eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions, our experienced optometrists use cutting-edge diagnostic tools to monitor your ocular health. Utilizing Optos Ultra Wide Field Retinal Imaging and optical tomography scans, our doctors can detect and treat eye diseases that permanently affect eyesight such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. These tests are included at no extra cost.
Are you a patient of Dr. Mario Arellano?
After over 20 years of serving the Santee Community, Dr. Arellano (or Dr. Mario as he is known to many patients) retired and turned over management of the clinic to Dr. Abbott, his associate since 2022. He promises to bring the same level of care to Dr. Arellano's patients, and believes you will find the transition to be seamless. He and his team are so grateful for the care that Dr. Mario provided to his patients and for the advice and counsel he provided to us to ensure that we continue to improve on the practice he established and grew.

Meet Dr. Chris Abbott
With 25 years of experience, he brings a practical problem-focused approach to your eye care needs. A New Jersey native and 1999 graduate of the New England College of Optometry, Chris is proud to be a Navy Veteran having spent over 20 years on Active Duty caring for Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and Airmen. His family has called Santee home since 2008.
