ABOUT US
True North Eyecare Optometry sounds to some like a multi-location conglomerate owned by a big corporation, but it's actually a single independent practice owned by Dr. Chris Abbott, who founded it in 2021. Dr. Abbott selected the name True North for its dual meaning. For sailors, it is a fixed point on the globe, so in our clinic it means to give calibration and intention to the way we treat our staff and patients. Also, it was fitting as a name for Dr. Abbott's travel optometry practice when he visited 50 villages in remote Alaska in 2021 and 2022.
Now, True North Eyecare Optometry is a single-location practice in much warmer Santee.
